SUMMARY:Yoga Explorers Kids Series for Ages 4-8 April 14
DESCRIPTION:Yoga offers healing benefits to kids too! By allowing children a safe place to breath and move they can learn ways to heal trauma within the body\, relaxation and resiliency as well. While a children’s class often looks different from an adults class\, the same ideas of wellness can be applied in ways they can grasp. This short 30 minute class built for ages 4-8 will use stories\, yoga poses\, meditation and games to go on adventures. We’ll travel through the jungle\, ocean and more! It’ll truly be an exploration of the body and mind! \n

SUMMARY:Improv For Kids with Miss Katie April 14
DESCRIPTION:Age group: 6 to 12 \nClass Size: 6 masked\, properly socially-distanced\, safe kids. \nSpace limited so register soon! \nLaughter is good for the soul! \nThis familiar saying holds more truth than we often give it credit. You might think that laughter and trauma are an odd combination. Trauma can change our brain chemistry\, the way we view ourselves\, and interact with the world. This can increase both mental and physical health struggles. How is laughter going to help all of that? \nResearch has shown that laughter has many health benefits including stress reduction\, increased immunity\, pain reduction\, increased resilience\, and improved moods. Humor offers the ability to look at things from an alternate perspective and adds a sense of control in regulating emotions. Through the humor and laughter of improvisation\, kids will learn how to be mindful of the moment\, listen\, work cooperatively\, be flexible\, accept mistakes\, and to trust themselves and others. \nImprovisation is a form of comedy that anyone can participate in; it is the art of saying yes! Simply by learning to be present and saying yes\, improv teaches kids valuable skills with the added bonus of laughter. Through this course\, kids can improve their self-confidence in a non-judgmental environment filled with fun and games. \nEveryone is welcome. Let’s play!

SUMMARY:Exploring Codependency April 14
DESCRIPTION:Do you find yourself thinking: “If he/she changed\, everything would be all right.” Or “I feel so empty and lost\, who am I?” If so\, codependency may be at the root. Growing up in unhealthy environments and in an unhealthy society produces adverse trauma responses in our minds and bodies.  We learn that our wants and needs are below others and that boundaries are selfish\, keeping our nervous system in hyperdrive\, making us feel unworthy which makes it difficult to heal. Join us as we explore how codependency may be impacting our lives and the steps we can take to recover from trauma. This class will include meditation and journaling.
