Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead

Volunteer Opportunities

Direct Service Volunteers

  1. Child Care & Activity Support (Ages 0–8):
Volunteers (age 18+) are needed to provide child care (ages birth–4) and support children’s activities (ages 4–8) during our Nurturing Parenting Programs. A certified babysitting course or equivalent is required. Free child care enables parents to focus fully on the program. Classes run once a week for 12–18 weeks, and is offered quarterly.
  2. Children’s Group Curriculum Support:
Volunteers (age 18+) assist with curriculum-based activities during Nurturing Parenting Programs. A background check and alignment with our mission are required. Classes meet one evening per week for 12–18 weeks each quarter.
  3. Front Desk & Administrative Support
Be the friendly face and welcoming voice that greets families as they arrive! We’re seeking volunteers to assist with front desk duties—including answering phones, welcoming participants, and providing general administrative support. Your presence helps create a warm, professional, and organized environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Indirect Service Volunteers

  1. Meal Preparation:
Individuals or groups can prepare and deliver simple meals (e.g., casseroles, pasta) for families attending evening programs. Call 859-525-3200 for dates and headcount.
  2. Child Abuse Prevention Month (April):
Support our Blue Ribbon Campaign by helping with the annual Blue Ribbon Ceremony or promoting awareness through pinwheel sales, ribbon displays, and distributing prevention materials in your community.
  3. Host a Wish List Drive:
Organize a “Party with a Purpose” by inviting friends to bring items from our Wish List to donate.
  4. Toy Cleaning & Organization:
Monthly help is needed to sanitize and organize toys and children’s materials at our facility—crucial for maintaining a healthy environment.
  5. Clerical Support:
Volunteers (age 18+) provide quarterly clerical assistance for our Child Abuse Treatment Services Director. Tasks include assembling facilitator and client packets. Support is especially needed in January, April, and August.
  6. Deep Cleaning of Shared Spaces
Help us create a welcoming, healthy environment for the families we serve! We’re looking for a team of volunteers to deep clean our visitation rooms, play areas, and shared kitchen spaces on a bi-monthly basis. These high-traffic areas are used daily by children and families, and your support ensures they remain safe, comfortable, and inviting for everyone who walks through our doors.
