Kentucky Legislature Approves $2.5 Million Investment in Family Nurturing Center’s New Facility and Expanded Services
State funding will help expand trauma-informed services for children and families across Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.
Crestview Hills, KY — Family Nurturing Center is proud to announce that the Kentucky General Assembly has approved a one-time $2.5 million investment to support the organization’s new Northern Kentucky facility and expansion of critical services for children and families impacted by abuse, trauma, and adversity.
The funding marks a transformational step forward in Family Nurturing Center’s Nurturing Hope Campaign, helping renovate and expand the organization’s newly acquired building in Crestview Hills while increasing long-term service capacity. Once complete, the facility will significantly expand access to trauma-focused counseling, parenting education and support, child abuse prevention programs, supervised parenting time, and family healing services for children and caregivers across Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.
Family Nurturing Center serves nearly 10,000 individuals annually through free programs designed to prevent child abuse, strengthen families, and help children and adults heal from trauma. The organization is recognized for evidence-based clinical services, innovative family support programs, and a trauma-informed approach that promotes safety, resilience, and long-term well-being.
“This investment changes what is possible for the families we serve,” said Jane Herms, President & CEO of Family Nurturing Center. “Every day, children and caregivers come to us seeking healing, hope, and stability. This support helps us create the space and capacity to meet that need for years to come.”
Representative Stephanie Dietz, who championed the request in the General Assembly, emphasized the broader impact of the investment.
“Investing in the Family Nurturing Center is an investment in stronger families and safer communities across Northern Kentucky. I was proud to champion this funding in the General Assembly to expand access to critical, evidence-based services that help children heal from trauma and give parents the tools they need to build stable, healthy homes.”
Family Nurturing Center extends sincere gratitude to Representative Stephanie Dietz, Senator Chris McDaniel, and Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe for their leadership and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable children and families. Their commitment was instrumental in securing this investment for the region.
The new facility will more than double Family Nurturing Center’s space and create healing-centered environments intentionally designed for children and families recovering from trauma. More than simply adding room, the building has been thoughtfully planned to support emotional regulation, connection, and a sense of safety from the moment families walk through the door. Planned features include expanded counseling and parenting time rooms, sensory and calming spaces, a therapeutic playground for family interaction, a family kitchen, staff training areas, and welcoming design elements that communicate both physical and psychological safety. The expansion will also allow the organization to add staff, reduce waitlists, and meet growing community demand for services.
While this public investment provides extraordinary momentum, community support remains essential to fully realize the vision. Family Nurturing Center invites businesses, foundations, and individuals to join the effort and help ensure every child and family has access to the support they deserve.
“To receive this level of confidence from the Commonwealth is deeply meaningful,” Herms added. “Now we ask the community to build with us.”
