Many cultures around the world for many centuries have recognized the power of drumming as a healing force. Drumming and rattling connect us with the Earth’s natural energies, grounding us and centering us so we feel safe and secure and at home. Drumming helps release old stuck energies and trauma from the body and the mind. Research verifies that we benefit tremendously from the actions and rhythms of drumming and the feeling of connection created in the group. Drumming is a non-verbal form of communication & self-expression that supports participants in socializing without anxiety. These actions decrease stress & improve mood while helping to heal old trauma by participating in healthy non-stressful interactions. Learn to let go of old patterns in a safe supportive environment. Tisa McGraw your facilitator has been a musician & vocalist her whole life, is trained a Shamanic drummer/singer, has been working with trauma healing drum/voice groups for over 20 years & is a former social worker
Participants may choose one or both classes. Includes lecture on the scientific research to support trauma healing using rhythms, an explanation of how to drum, basic structure for the group to support each other and experience hands-on drumming.
