Dear Friends:
It’s amazing to think how one person can change the conversation, change the outcome and change the world. One person who dares to speak up. One person who dares to step in. One person who dares to step up.
A victim of child abuse needs a hero like this; someone who cares enough to speak up, step in and step up; someone who is committed enough to find the path forward.
Such everyday heroes are all around us. They’re often unsung, but what a difference they make in the lives of a child, of a family and of a community.
We’re happy to highlight some of these heroes in this edition of Nurture. From elected officials, funders and community leaders to our own Board and staff, heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They have one thing in common – a commitment to ending the cycle of child abuse and making the world a better place for children and families.
You too can be a hero for children – and it doesn’t require superhuman strength – just a genuine desire to help. A listening ear, a smile, a word of encouragement – sometimes that it all it takes to make a difference in the life of a child. Now more than ever, kindness matters.
We need more heroes. We need you. No cape required.
