More than 85 children are currently on a 6 to 9-month waitlist for Family Nurturing Center’s counseling services. Those months mark time lost to heal from abuse and neglect. Time lost to feel safe. Time lost enjoy their childhoods.

While FNC serves nearly 10,000 children and adults annually, there are many we cannot serve due to limited capacity. FNC recently purchased and is currently renovating our future home as part of the Nurturing Hope campaign, a $12 million effort allowing FNC to:

  • Double the amount of physical space to serve 5,000 more people across all programs over the next five years.
  • Increase capacity to expand specialized staff to meet the growing need for prevention and treatment services.
  • Eliminate the 6 to 9-month waitlist for the 85-plus children seeking counseling.
  • Increase accessibility, anonymity, and privacy of services and enhance overall client experience.

Family Nurturing Center has already secured over $9.1 million — or 76% of its goal — toward the project, including a recent $2.5 million investment from the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The vision for our new center

Once complete, the facility will significantly expand access to trauma-focused counseling, parenting education and support, child abuse prevention programs, supervised parenting time, and family healing services for children and caregivers across Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.

Family Nurturing Center provides free programs designed to prevent child abuse, strengthen families, and help children and adults heal from trauma. The organization is recognized for evidence-based clinical services, innovative family support programs, and a trauma-informed approach that promotes safety, resilience, and long-term well-being.

The new facility will more than double Family Nurturing Center’s space and create healing-centered environments intentionally designed for children and families recovering from trauma. More than simply adding room, the building has been thoughtfully planned to support emotional regulation, connection, and a sense of safety from the moment families walk through the door.

Planned features include expanded counseling and parenting time rooms, sensory and calming spaces, a therapeutic playground for family interaction, a family kitchen, staff training areas, and welcoming design elements that communicate both physical and psychological safety.

The expansion will also allow the organization to add staff, reduce waitlists, and meet growing community demand for services.

Be part of our Nurturing Hope Campaign

Our community’s future depends on our ability to foster the well-being of the next generation – because all children deserve to be safe and loved.
